Be Your Own First Responder

Intensive Self Care is critical to helping us through some of life's most difficult moments. We like to say, Self Care is like giving yourself a big hug when you most need it.

WOW Self Care School is committed to supporting the wider community throughout the COVID19 health pandemic.

For many of us this is a time of considerable anxiety.

It is also a time when for many of us life also throws additional curve balls - our lives and dreams can be thrown upside down. At the moment you might be in what I call 'emergency mode'. Whether you are enmeshed in workplace bullying, workplace abuse and harassment as a target, have faced a redundancy, had a relationship break down, lost a loved one, been in an accident, had a health scare, or been affected by an economic downturn, your ability to deal with and care for yourself will be key to getting you through. Your health and wellbeing must always come first.

A carefully thought through Emergency Self Care Plan  will give you the ability to address a crisis from a position of personal strength, clarify and reassess your needs and ultimately help you to finding fulfilment, joy and success once again.

The emergency  version of Self Care School is designed to give you some control in an otherwise very chaotic situation. The program works within the WHO Framework: WHO defines self-care as “the ability of individuals, families and communities to promote health, prevent disease, maintain health, and to cope with illness and disability with or without the support of a healthcare provider”. An important part of the Emergency Edition of Self Care School is Health Literacy -making informed choices to protect your health.

In 2017 Sydney Morning Herald Investigative Journalist, Kate McClymont was researching a story on workplace sexual harassment in Australia post the Harvey Weinstein #metoo storm that was engulfing Hollywood and the world. It was Bridget Ninness along with other women who spoke with Kate McClymont and broke the story on the years of torment she endured by Don Burke as his senior producer on Burke’s Backyard. Bridget had taken legal action against Don Burke for the alleged psychological injury she sustained in the workplace. The matter settled.
